HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) -Good Friday evening everyone! Today was the opening day of the Nebraska State Fair. While it was a warm start to the fair, it will be nothing but much cooler the most of the days to come. I’m calling it fair-tastic weather.

As we head into this evening, there will continue to be some isolated showers and thunderstorms. But later in the evening and overnight, some stronger storms may fire up behind the cold front. Some isolated severe storms will be possible with wind gusts to around 60 mph and hail up to around an inch in diameter. These should weaken as we get toward tomorrow morning. The best chance for showers and thunderstorms will be across Southern and Western Nebraska and Northern Kansas. Look for lows tomorrow morning from the mid 50s north to the upper 60s
