JASPER, Texas (KTRE) - Three people were seriously injured in a wreck on Hwy 190 in the Beech Grove community Friday afternoon.

The wreck, which happened about a mile east of FM 777, caused one of the vehicles, a small red SUV, to become engulfed in flames.

A black SUV was also in the grass on the south side of the highway with significant damage. Beech Grove VFD firefighters put out the fire and also assessed and treated the injured.

Allegiance Mobile Health-Jasper EMS took one injured person to CHRISTUS Jasper Memorial Hospital.

Two other people, one of whom was a child, were taken by private vehicle to the same hospital. The fire department says all three had significant injuries, with one believed to be critical.
