Residents cars, roofs covered in oil after massive explosion

ROSELAND, La. —

Crews are working to battle the blaze after a massive explosion at an oil company near Roseland.

Heavy smoke completely covered the area, and even hours later, it left its mark.

"All of a sudden I heard this big boom and at first I thought it was thunder,” said Marty Broussard.

It wasn't thunder that Marty Broussard heard Friday afternoon.

"Then I went boom, boom, boom, and that was when it let loose right there,” said Broussard.

It sounded like an explosion at an oil company near his home.
