The Chicago Dogs are back in the Miles Wolff Cup Playoffs for the fifth consecutive season after defeating the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks 8-4.
Brady Miller returned from his mid-summer stint in Mexico and gave the Dogs 2⅔ innings of one-run ball, striking out three. Michael Vallone followed that up with 2⅓ innings, striking out three and giving up two earned runs.
Anthony Ranaudo gave up a solo home run in his inning of work but was otherwise flawless. Eric Lin pitched a scoreless seventh, and then Trey Braithwaite capped off the night with two scoreless, striking out three and only allowing one baserunner. Vallone earned the win, as Miller didn’t pitch the necessary five innings to qualify.
