Where is Antonio Guterres?

Who?

Guterres. He is a former prime minister of Portugal who is head of the United Nations, the agency that is supposed to bring peace and unity to countries around the world.

He has been made irrelevant, however, by President Donald Trump, who is running his own brand of United Nations – as long as European members are united behind him.

Which seems to be the case in Trump’s attempt to bring an end to the nasty war in Ukraine.

He may not be able to do it, but at least he is trying, which is more than the United Nations, or any other world leader, is doing or has done, and that includes hapless Joe Biden, Trump’s predecessor.

The United States, by the way, contributes $13 billion a year to the UN.
