TWIN FALLS — Kelly Klaas was driving on U.S. Highway 93 north of the Snake River Canyon years ago when he saw a lighted object that appeared to take off from the runway of the Twin Falls airport, going at an “unbelievable” rate of speed.

The whole incident was over in three seconds, Klaas estimated.

What was it? He doesn’t know.

“It might have been a reflection on my windshield,” he told the Times-News , “but it looked real.”

On another occasion, he was riding his Harley Davidson on Kimberly Road on a summer night when he said he saw a luminous globe about three feet in diameter keeping pace with him.

“To this day, I have no idea what it was,” he said.
