The final race of the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series regular season at Daytona International Speedway has officially arrived. On Saturday night, 36 drivers will look to improve their standing in the 2025 Cup Series playoffs, with only 16 competitors making the field. With Daytona closing out the regular season, the intensity will be as high as ever.
Fourteen drivers are currently locked into the 2025 Cup Series playoffs by winning races, while Tyler Reddick and Alex Bowman hold the final two spots on points right now. If there isn't a new winner at Daytona, Reddick and Bowman will make the playoffs; however, everything changes if a 15th winner occurs on Saturday night.
If neither driver ends up in victory lane under this scenario, Reddick would hold the final playoff spot by 29 points over Bowman. The driver of the No. 48 car can make up enough points to make the 16-driver field, but the best way of securing his spot is by winning at Daytona.
Several superspeedway winners in the Cup Series have not won in 2025, such as Chris Buescher, Kyle Busch, Brad Keselowski, Michael McDowell, Erik Jones, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., Daniel Suarez, and Justin Haley. The playoff field will be decided on Saturday night, and almost nothing is certain outside of William Byron's regular-season title and the 14 drivers locked into the Round of 16.
