KINGSTON, N.Y. — An Ulster County legislator from Kingston says changes to Ulster County Transit Area bus service should be put on hold, particularly a decision to move its transportation hub out of the city.

Legislator Gregory McCollough, D-Kingston, said he thinks the changes should be put off.

“It’s premature to rush these changes,” McCollough said in an email. “These changes are going to have a huge impact on the folks that depend on the buses.”

He also said that the bus hub should remain in Kingston, not outside of it.

“It’s imperative that the bus hub stay in Kingston and not go out of town,” the legislator added. “This too will cause great hardship for riders.”

“I’m hoping that we can come up with something feasible and convenient,” McCollough said.
