Kilmar Abrego Garcia had an emotional reunion with his family after he was released from federal custody on Friday — and then was told that he may be deported to Uganda.

The Maryland man who became the face of the debate over President Donald Trump's immigration policies still faces criminal human smuggling charges brought against him by the U.S. Department of Justice.

The reunion video

Late Friday night, CASA shared a video of Abrego reuniting with his family after his release in Nashville, Tennessee.

Hours after it was posted, a source familiar with the case told NBC News Abrego was informed he "may be removed to Uganda no less than 72 hours absent weekends."
