Leeds West Indian Carnival is always a landmark event in our city, and with the festival running once again this year, there's plenty you need to know.

This year the event will be running on Bank Holiday Monday, August 25, with the parade taking place across Chapeltown , Harehills , and the wider area. You can expect a day full of colour and fantastic costumes as usual.

Having run since 1967, the Leeds West Indian Carnival is the oldest in Europe and draws an estimated 100,000 visitors a year, making it the largest outside of London.

Dates and Timings

The Carnival will run on Monday, August 25, for its 58th anniversary. The parade will leave at 2pm and will begin at Potternewton Park, in Harehills
