UPDATE: The Lansing Police Department has identified the man who fell into the Mississippi River and died as 63 - year - old , Robert Merlin Biertzer of Brownsville , WI. Biertzer fell int o the Mississippi River while walking on the docks . Biertzer was located by friends near the area where he fell into the water . He was pronounced dead at the scene. No foul play is suspected.
