Mason Miller makes insane play at first in Padres’ win over Dodgers

Padres’ reliever Mason Miller couldn’t recall playing first base since Little League.

But in a crucial matchup on Friday between division rivals, Miller had the chance to turn back the clock. The 26-year-old right-hander scooped up a throw from Xander Bogaerts to complete a spectacular inning-ending double play in the eighth.

That preserved the Padres’ one-run lead before closer Robert Suarez slammed the door on a 2-1 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers at Petco Park.
