Promising they won’t be alone in their efforts, an Ontario Liberal MPP is urging Dresden residents to continue their opposition to a proposed landfill and recycling centre.

Ted Hsu, who represents Kingston and the Islands, spoke to about 50 people Friday evening at the Old Czech Hall.

He called the matter precedent-setting, with potential ramifications across the province.

“We will keep fighting,” he said. “It’s not the end of the story.”

There has been a loud public outcry to York1 Environmental Waste Solutions’ plan to create an eight-hectare landfill on a 14-hectare site at 29831 Irish School Rd., less than a kilometre from Dresden.
