SALEM - The Salem Community Foundation is back again to host its fourth annual golf outing to support K-9 police units in the Columbiana area.

The money raised by the event directly supports the Salem, Columbiana and Lisbon K-9 units, but the higher-quality training equipment that they are able to acquire can be utilized by a larger pool of K-9 units in their training group.

"This keep us running. Our K-9 units are run strictly by donation, so there's no budgeting for it or anything like that. So with this money, it keeps our K-9 units operational, keeps our community safer and it keeps the dogs on the street," says Sergeant Michael Garber, a member of the Salem K-9 unit.
