Hot weather in Escondido on a Saturday morning didn't stop more than a dozen protesters from coming together to rally against a tech company known as Palantir Technologies and the data it collects for the federal government.
"They are using it to track people based on racial -- based on any information they can get on them," said Gregg Oliver with Escondido Neighbors for Solutions. Oliver said his community group advocates for progressive causes. During Saturday's protest, those causes included immigration and government overreach.
"I'm concerned about the way the current administration uses the information that it has, that's one thing. The other thing is I'm concerned about the information that this tool can provide," said Oliver.
