A dog owner was delighted to learn that her bulldog made a new bestie at day care—only to discover that her forever friend had been surrendered and was in need of a home.

In the summer of 2021, Isabella Moranda noticed that her bulldog Maggie seemed sad and was losing her appetite. Her husband, Jake Hanson, is in the NFL and is away from home often, while Moranda goes out for work and had to leave 5-year-old Maggie by herself.

This seemed to be taking its toll on Maggie, as Moranda, of Arizona, told Newsweek that her dog was "extremely lonely." As a result, she started sending the bulldog to day care to socialize and enjoy some company.

"I could tell she was getting really sad and decided to bring her to day care, and she loved it," Moranda, 28, said.
