'The Lovely Bones' Deserved Much More Than 31% on Rotten Tomatoes

Over 15 years ago, Saoirse Ronan starred in the gut-wrenching but poorly received The Lovely Bones, directed by Peter Jackson. Expectations were certainly high, seeing that such an established writer, director, and producer led the movie, but The Lovely Bones was a box office bomb. The movie only reached a 31% score on Rotten Tomatoes, but it certainly deserved much more than that. The Lovely Bones draws from a shockingly true story and even includes elements of the author's own experiences.
