NEW ORLEANS – Regardless of whether the Broncos sign him a contact extension, John Franklin-Myers is confident down the road of earning what he believes he is worth.

After Denver’s 28-19 win over the New Orleans Saints in the preseason finale Saturday at the Superdome, Franklin-Myers confirmed a Denver Gazette report from last month that the Broncos don’t plan to negotiate with him for a contract extension before the Sept. 7 regular-season opener against Tennessee. Franklin-Myers, on the books to make a base salary of $7.39 million in 2025, wants an extension.

“I’m here to play football whether they pay me or not,’’ Franklin-Myers said. “If not, I’ll be a free agent this offseason and my time is going to come.”
