NEWINGTON, Conn. — U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement, or ICE, continues to make its presence felt in the state of Connecticut.

Newington Mayor John Trister posted on Facebook at 4 p.m. Saturday that ICE personnel arrested seven people at a car wash in town that morning.

The individuals were reportedly arrested while working at the Optimo Car Wash on Main Street, according to Trister.

“The Newington Police Department was not involved in these arrests and was only notified afterward as a courtesy,” Trister posted.

Since town officials learned of the arrests, they’ve requested immediate information from the Hartford ICE office, which is where inquiries have been directed.
