WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - One person is dead after a motorcycle crash in west Wichita.

The Kansas Highway Patrol says around 11:30 p.m. Friday, a Harley Davidson motorcycle, ridden by 51-year-old Jess Chavez of Wichita, was traveling northbound on I-235 just north of West Street, when it entered the median and struck a guardrail. Chavez was thrown from the motorcycle and into the guardrail and a fence. The motorcycle kept going, crossing the median and southbound lanes of I-235 before breaking through a fence and coming to rest.
