PRINCE GEORGE, Va. (WWBT) - A man is in the hospital with serious injuries after his car hit a tree in Prince George County.

The police department said this all started on Saturday afternoon in a parking lot on Courthouse Road, where a man got into his car and drove off after an argument with his wife.

Officers said the man was driving at a high rate of speed when he collided with another car. The driver of that car was evaluated by Prince George Fire and EMS and later released without significant injuries, according to authorities.

Police said the suspect drove off and went towards Laurel Springs Road, where he rounded a curve, lost control of his SUV, and struck a tree.

Police said the driver was partially-ejected through the windshield, sustaining life-threatening injuries.
