YORK, Pa. (WHTM) -- Hate has no place in York, the city's police chief said Saturday after an alleged incident overnight.
"Any incident where 'Hate Fueled Violence' is alleged (in this community) will always be a priority to myself, this Department, and York City Government as a whole," York City Police Commissioner Michael Muldrow said in a statement Saturday.
This comes after an alleged incident late Friday in downtown York in which members of the LGBTQ community said they were harassed and one was attacked.
Muldrow said he has ordered the department's detectives to review that case and has notified the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission.
He also said the department's new "trauma responder counselor" will follow up with those impacted by the incident.
