BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — The U.S. Department of Justice has given over $3.3 million to the Louisiana Commission on Law Enforcement (LCLE). This funding will help fight violent crimes against women and improve victim services statewide.

According to the DOJ, $2.47 million comes from the STOP (Services, Training, Officers, Prosecutors) Violence Against Women Formula Grant Program. This program helps law enforcement, prosecutors, courts, and victim services. It focuses on cases of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking.

$908,000 comes from the Sexual Assault Services Formula Program. The DOJ said this program funds rape crisis centers and nonprofits that support victims of sexual assault.
