Missing person report leads to authorities finding them in a car crash off Route 15

PISCATAQUIS COUNTY -- A missing person report led to authorities finding said person involved in a car crash off Route 15.

According to the Piscataquis County Sheriff's Office, in the early morning hours on Saturday, August 23, they received a report of a missing person who was last seen leaving Greenville Jct. the night before at around 7:30 and heading north on Route 15.

At approximately 2:45 a.m., the Sheriff's Office says Deputy Kyle Wilson discovered the missing person's vehicle off the side of Route 15 with the driver still inside.

The driver was then taken out of the vehicle and taken to a local hospital. Speed was a contributing factor in the crash, according to the Piscataquis County Sheriff's Office.
