The Houston Rockets shocked the league this offseason by prying Kevin Durant away from the Phoenix Suns. Although the Miami Heat had reportedly presented a strong offer for the superstar forward, Phoenix ultimately chose to deal him to Houston. Since joining the Rockets, Durant’s long-term future with the team is in question.
Durant is entering the final year of his current deal. While there have been conversations about an extension, no agreement has been reached yet. ESPN’s Brian Windhorst shared insight into the situation, explaining that negotiations are active but incomplete.
“The Rockets and Durant have had discussions about a new contract, and there is belief they will come to terms, sources said, but they’ve yet to come to an agreement,” Windhorst wrote.
However, recently Sam Am
