Amanda Bois is getting a kick out of Sault College’s new football team.

The practical nursing graduate helped the college’s women’s hockey team win two ACHA Women’s Division 2 national championships in 2024 and this year. She played defence.

“ I will never forget these memories I created on the team,” Bois told The Sault Star before the Cougars football team hosted Hamilton Hurricanes for their first home game at Rocky DiPietro Field on Saturday afternoon. “It was incredible.”

She thinks “it’s amazing” Sault College is now active in the Canadian Junior Football League. Bois expects the team’s home games – the Cougars host London Beefeaters on Sept. 6 – will bring Sault Ste. Marie residents “together” at the Elizabeth Street venue.
