The Department of Veterans Affairs Grand Junction Medical Center announced on Wednesday that it was one of several VA health care facilities selected to receive funding for infrastructure improvements.
The facility was awarded funds through the Veterans Health Administration’s Non-Recurring Maintenance Program (NRM).
The maintenance program’s budget this fiscal year was increased to $2.8 billion following a recent, $800 million infusion.
A Grand Junction VA Medical Center spokesperson declined to comment on the exact amount of funds they will receive or when it will be distributed.
According to a VA press release, NRM funding was about $300 million less than it was last fiscal year — until the supplemental $800 million.
