Penn State, a top contender for the Big Ten crown and a legit player in the national championship chase, opens its season on Saturday afternoon against Nevada at Beaver Stadium.

James Franklin’s Nittany Lions, led by a veteran cast including quarterback Drew Allar, running backs Nick Singleton and Kaytron Allen and defensive lineman Dani Dennis-Sutton and Zane Durant, are coming off a 2024 appearance in the college playoff semifinals.

Nevada is a huge underdog.

As of Sunday morning, Penn State is a 44.5-point favorite on DraftKings. The total on the PSU-Nevada contest is 57.5 points.

Saturday’s game is the first matchup between the two programs.
