SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio Police fatally shot a man early Sunday who they say made threatening moves towards them as they responded to a call in progress on the east side.
It happened just after midnight at the Knights Inn off East Houston Street near Frost Bank Center.
Police Chief William McManus says it happened as three of his officers were responding to a reported cutting at the motel.
The chief says when officers were talking with the alleged victim, he came towards the door and threatened the officers. Chief McManus said the man, who was in his mid 30s, "moved aggressively towards them" with a knife in his hand.
Chief McManus says they shot at the man, killing him.
His identify has not been released.
