ROCHESTER, Minn.- Olmsted County closed applications for Marijuana Retail license holders on Friday, August 22, at 5 p.m.

According to Cody Miller, environmental health manager, a total 5 businesses applied for county's 4 available slots before the deadline.

Now that they're in the running he says the county will have 20 days to consider their applications and if all of them meet the necessary requirements there will hopefully be a lottery in the first few weeks of October.

He says this puts the county about halfway through the registration process to fill 14 slots for recreational marijuana retailers holding a mix of microbusiness, retail and mezzobusiness licenses.
