Drowning is a leading cause of death for young children. In fact it is the leading cause of death for kids 1 through 4, significantly ahead of deaths from motor vehicles, fires and poisoning combined.

SWIM ON Foundation is committed to infant and child safety.

We also strongly support car seats, and safe sleep and smoke detectors. But we would also encourage parents to take the steps needed to prevent accidental injuries involving water.

SWIM ON Foundation has many resources on our website ( SwimOnFoundation.org ) including "Your Baby/BathSafety" a downloadable flyer on bath safety. SWIM ON Foundation would also be happy to provide printed flyers.

An important part of preventing child drowning is to enroll children in swim lessons that teach them how to float and then how to swim.
