More than $257 million in transportation investments has been approved by the Santa Barbara County Association of Governments , funding roadway, public transportation and pedestrian safety upgrades through June of 2030.
The SBCAG board adopted the annual five-year transportation program funded by Measure A in June after proposals and project information was provided by cities and transportation agencies in the spring.
Measure A funding was authorized in 2008 with 79% approval from voters — the county’s half-cent sales tax is projected to raise $1.05 billion through 2040.
Funds are split between the north and south county as evenly as possible, with cities and projects in the north receiving $83.4 million through 2030 compared to $80.9 million for South Coast cities.
