COLUMBIA – Authorities have released details about the car crash on Aug. 22 involving South Carolina football defensive line coach Travian Robertson that killed one person.

The driver of the other vehicle died, according S.C. Highway Patrol Master Trooper Mitchell Ridgeway. Robertson, 36, was hospitalized, but was in stable condition when South Carolina released a statement Aug. 22.

The crash happened at about 5:45 a.m. on U.S. 76 in Richland County, Ridgeway said. The other driver was traveling west on U.S. 76 in a 2014 Nissan Pathfinder, and Robertson was driving east in a 2024 Chevrolet Tahoe, according to Ridgeway. The wreck happened after the Nissan Pathfinder crossed the center line and collided head-on with the Tahoe, Highway Patrol said, and the driver of the Pathfinder died
