(NewsNation) — Ukrainians are marking their Independence Day Sunday with daily drone and missile attacks from Russia amid the ongoing three-year war.
President Donald Trump and other world leaders sent a letter of support to Ukraine on its Independence Day, which marks 34 years since Ukraine broke from the Soviet Union. Russia was one of the republics that made up the Soviet Union.
"Now is the moment to bring an end of the senseless, senseless killing. The United States supports A negotiated settlement that leads to a durable, lasting peace that ends the bloodshed and safeguards Ukraine from threats over series, safeguards, Ukraine, sovereignty, and dignity," Trump said.
