By the time Ryder starred alongside Ben Stiller, Janeane Garofalo and Ethan Hawke in the 1994 cult movie "Reality Bites," her edgy looks — a vintage thrift store dress with chunky shoes one day, an Armani men's suit the next — had turned her into a style icon.
