Registration is open for volunteers to help clean up a local waterway for the 2025 Clean Your Streams Day.

Seven sites in Holland, Maumee, Oregon, Perrysburg, and Toledo are kickoff locations for trash removal efforts Sept. 27 from 8 a.m. to noon.

The idea, organizers said of the cleanup day held every September since 1997, is for people to remove trash from area streams, rivers, and ditches.

In 2024, 649 volunteers removed more than 10,000 pounds of marine debris in and along 49 waterway sites, according to Partners for Clean Streams, which organizes the efforts.

The kickoff locations are:

● Glass City Metropark, 1505 Front St., Toledo. Cleanup sites include Lower Maumee watershed areas in downtown Toledo both east and west of the Maumee River, such as Middlegrounds Metropark, Prom
