DETROIT -- Two journeyman pitchers who were previously teammates on the Detroit Tigers were designated for assignment by the Minnesota Twins over the weekend.
José Ureña was DFA’d on Saturday, followed by Erasmo Ramírez on Sunday. Both had been short-term roster additions after Minnesota’s flurry of deadline trades last month.
Ureña, 33, has already pitched for and been released by four teams in 2025. He has posted a 5.00 ERA in 36 innings for the New York Mets, Toronto Blue Jays, Los Angeles Dodgers and Twins.
The right-hander signed a one-year, $3.25 million deal with the Tigers before the 2021 season after six years with the Miami Marlins. He logged 100 innings for Detroit that year, mostly as a starter, and finished with a 5.81 ERA. The Twins were his eighth different club since lea
