AUBURN, Neb. (WOWT) - “She’s got a big heart.”

A woman affectionately named “Nana Lynn” is a favorite amongst the kiddos here at Auburn Head Start.

She’s spent much of her life helping others, as a former caretaker at a nursing home alongside her daughter Erin Dettmann.

“I love kids, always have. I have 14 grandkids and 23 great-grandkids,” Flynn said.

Their co-working partnership continues on today as Dettmann is now the lead teacher at Auburn Head Start. Nana Lynn retired from the nursing home in 2020 to join her daughter.

“You’d think, ‘Oh, I’d never want to work with my mom for 20 years.’ But I get to enjoy my mom every day, and I feel like that is a blessing,” Dettmann said.
