Woman released after anti-migration protest arrest

A woman has been released from police custody after being arrested during an anti-migrant protest in the city yesterday, Saturday, August 23.

Avon and Somerset Police confirmed a 37-year-old woman was arrested during the demonstrations in Bristol on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker.

Today, Sunday, August 24, a spokesperson for the force confirmed a woman has been released under investigation following the protests.

BristolLive reported that no officer suffered serious physical injuries or was required to go to hospital following the protest.

A number of other people were detained during the protests, but were de-arrested the same day.
