The NASCAR Cup Series competed at Daytona International Speedway with everything on the line. Daytona represented the final race of the 2025 Cup Series regular season, as Tyler Reddick and Alex Bowman battled for the last two playoff spots. Thankfully for Bowman, a Team Penske driver saved the day.
Ryan Blaney and the No. 12 team for Team Penske won the Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona, earning their second victory of the 2025 Cup Series season. Blaney won in a four-wide finish that featured three drivers who needed a win to make the playoffs. The driver of the No. 12 car's victory means Bowman made the playoffs in the 16th spot.
Blaney has been strong throughout the 2025 NASCAR season, but several DNFs took him out of contention to win the Cup Series regular-season championship. With the Round of 16 up next, Blaney hopes to take this momentum and start the journey toward his second Cup Series title in November.
