MARCO PENGE experienced one of the most surreal moments of golf in recent memory when his ball landed on a spectator's belly.

The English golf star was trying to chip out of a bunker at the British Masters when the bizarre situation occurred.

His chip flew over the green and into the crowd of spectators watching from a nearby mound.

There was a moment of confusion as the audience glanced around to try and find the rogue ball, before realising it had settled on one fan's stomach.

Fans and the commentary team saw the funny side of the unusual incident, with the announcers immediately joking that he should play it where it lie.
