ST. PAUL — The forecast calls for Pronto Pups, fried pork chops and Sweet Martha’s cookies under sunny skies with a helping of balmy temperatures, mild winds and low humidity.
In other words, perfect weather for the start of this year’s Minnesota State Fair.
“It’s going to be ideal (weather) for sure,” said Bill Borghoff, meteorologist with the Twin Cities office of the National Weather Service. “It looks quite dry and quite mild.”
Fairgoers — and workers — agreed.
Friday’s temperatures were “perfect” for the Fair, said Julie Berrisford, of Stillwater.
Her friend Kathy Cook, of St. Paul, concurred. The two women became friends in grade school and have known each other for 48 years.
“I love it!’ Cook said. “It’s nice and cool.”
