The Buffalo Bills began the process of paring their roster to the NFL-mandated 53 players by releasing seven players Sunday who had no chance of making the team.
They are defensive backs Zy Alexander and Garnett Hollis Jr. , defensive end Nelson Ceaser , offensive lineman Rush Reimer , tight end Matt Sokol and running back Elijah Young . They also waived/injured wide receiver Grant Dubose who was signed on Tuesday, then suffered a collarbone injury in practice Wednesday that required surgery.
The Bills still have a long way to go as they get to the limit by 4 p.m. Tuesday , and there are far more difficult decisions to come.
By releasing these players now, it gives them a slightly better chance of perhaps finding their way onto another team, or at least a practice sq
