Given this popularity, it's no surprise that series creator Dallas Jenkins is aiming to strike gold twice with the upcoming prequel series Joseph of Egypt. As its title suggests, Joseph of Egypt will focus on the titular Biblical figure as he struggles to acclimate to life in Egypt ; Bridgerton alum Adam Hashmi is slated to play Joseph, while Jenkins serves as an executive producer. While it might seem counterintuitive to do a prequel to The Chosen , Prime Video is setting the stage for its next major franchise — and if it learns the right lessons from The Chosen , a very successful franchise that avoids the pitfalls of other biblical-based media.
