ATLANTA -- With their slimmest of playoff hopes further dimmed by the Mets this past weekend, the Braves can now look toward a week that could enhance optimism about how good their starting rotation might be when finally whole again in 2026.
The Braves avoided a three-game series sweep when they claimed a 4-3 win over the Mets on Sunday afternoon at Truist Park. Sean Murphy delivered a game-tying two-run single in the sixth, and Jurickson Profar delivered the game-winning single to shallow center with two outs in the eighth.
Weakening the playoff hopes of a National League East rival is a good way to start the week. But this week’s highlight will come during a four-game series that begins in Philadelphia on Thursday. Chris Sale could start the series opener or Friday night’s game. Th
