The New England Patriots took another step toward moving on from last year’s draft class.

New England waived guard Layden Robinson with an injury designation on Sunday. The 24-year-old could wind up on the injured reserve if he clears waivers.

Selected with the No. 103 pick out of Texas A&M last season, Robinson started six games at right guard and five at left guard. His 43.6 overall grade on Pro Football Focus ranked 129th out of 136 eligible guards.

The Patriots remade their offensive line during the offseason. Along with signing center Garrett Bradbury and right tackle Morgan Moses, they drafted left tackle Will Campbell with the No. 4 overall pick. Mike Onwenu should start at right guard, but left guard remains an open competition.
