SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. — Authorities say three people were wounded in a Sunday morning shooting in Sumter County.
The Sumter County Sheriff's Office said the shooting happened in the 3300 block of North Main Street. Deputies arrived to find multiple shell casings. Authorities said the first victim, who has an active warrant, told deputies he was shot. He was taken to Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital for treatment.
The sheriff's office said the second victim was already in the hospital's emergency department, at which point deputies learned their injuries were tied to the same incident. The department shared a later update confirming there was also a third person. These two arrived at the hospital by personal vehicle and both sustained what authorities described as non-life-threatening injuries
