You can excuse fans at Vancouver’s Nat Bailey Stadium if they were having Ferris Bueller flashbacks Saturday.
Matthew Broderick and Alan Ruck, who were the main characters in the 1986 movie classic Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, were at the ballpark and led the crowd in Take Me Out to the Ball Game during the seventh-inning stretch in Northwest League game between the Vancouver Canadians and the Tri-City Dust Devils.
The C’s made a point of thanking Lionsgate Productions, who have offices in Vancouver, for helping making it all happen. The C’s also hash tagged The Best Is Yet to Come, which is a movie that Broderick, 63, and Ruck, 69, are reported to be shooting in the Lower Mainland.
No word on whether any of Saturday’s action at the Nat will make the flick.
