YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) -- Boardman Police and the Youngstown Bomb Squad responded to a call about a potential live grenade found in a local home around noon on Sunday.
The homeowner, who recently purchased the home on Leighton Avenue in Youngstown, recently hired a company to clean out the property.
While cleaning out the home, the workers found a box with several grenades left by the previous owner, according to the owner.
While most of them appeared to be inactive, one of them was suspected to be live.
At this time, the Youngstown Bomb Squad could not determine if the grenade was live on-site and took it with them for further testing.
The Canfield Police K9 unit was called to do a final sweep of the home, where nothing else was found.
