Fulton County commissioners are taking heat for declining to follow a court order that would put two Republicans on the county election board. It's a breach that critics say cuts across party lines.

The law requires the board to add two Republican picks for the county election board.

Republicans made two picks who had aligned with 2020 election deniers. Because of that, the Democrat-led commission refused them.

A judge ordered the commission to do it anyway. The board declined.

"What I'm seeing is a series of escalations between the two major parties in our country when it comes to ignoring court orders," said Scot Turner, a Republican former state representative who blogged about it Friday.
